The 6 year partnership between ANC Education, leading transnational education provider in Sri Lanka and the University of West London (UWL) celebrated yet another milestone in their journey with the graduation of 157 fresh students recently. The strong partnership between ANC Education and UWL adopts a mirror method to maintain excellent academic standards and to ensure a twoway flow of knowledge. During the past six years, ANC and UWL partnership has been providing MBA and LLM qualification in Business and Law to students and professionals alike. Congratulating the graduates Prof Anthony Woodman, Senior Pro Vice Chancellor and Professor of Translational Research said,

“Our partnership with ANC Education is an incredibly strong and a true one that goes beyond a mere merchant transaction. There is a well-established academic faculty here at ANC who have worked closely with my team in London to gain an incredible understanding and an ethos of maintaining quality to provide an excellent student experience. Ours is a two-way partnership, which is the reason behind its success. Within these six years, we have built a great platform which will allow us to expand to areas beyond Business and Law.” University of West London is a 150 year old academic institute that has acquired a reputation as one of the top multifaceted universities in the United Kingdom. According to Prof Anthony Woodman,

a recent survey on career prospects of university graduates revealed that UWL graduates record a 96.1% success rate, placing the University at the top of the ranking table in terms of employability in London. “We are adamant on maintaining the same standard of academic prowess in the transnational arena.

Mirroring of courses allows us to ensure that students receive the same calibre of education around the globe and that our graduate and post graduate degrees inculcate the same weight no matter wherever in the globe the study programs are held. This method lets us oversee the assessments and make certain that those are benchmarked with London. However, it is important is that there is still a local flavour, UWL encourages students to contextualize their case studies suit their country’s socio-economic and administrative backdrop. We are increasingly looking into strengthening the two way mirroring process to ascertain that the flow of knowledge remains a two way process.

This bilateral sharing of knowledge will ensure that UWL remains a truly global university. Our partnership with ANC has been focal point in this particular aspect our growth.” commented Prof Woodman. ANC Education, American Education Center LTD, operating under the brand name ‘ANC Education’ has been operating for over 14 years in Sri Lanka’s and is the largest education conglomerate. ANC Education is the market leader for private education in the country and is the only establishment offering a full spectrum of educational programs from pre-school, high school,

undergraduate to postgraduate courses. Prof Woodman added, “we are proud of all the graduates for their commendable strength in balancing their academic pursuits alongside their careers and family lives. This is no easy feat and we hope that all of them will be part of the UWL alumni body and work with the next generation of Sri Lankan students.
