The revo l u t i o n a r y program provides students with an Honours Degree in three years from the point of completion of Advanced Level examinations compared to the usual five years in the Sri Lankan market. The Degree program also comprehensively covers both the CIMA and ACCA curriculums together with significant additional content. This unique feature has enabled the BA (Hons) in International Business and Finance awarded by UWS to gain 11 examination exemptions from CIMA and nine examination exemptions from ACCA at the end of the second year of the Degree. This is significantly dif ferent to what is available in the market where, the Degree programs are only eligible for exemptions from either CIMA or ACCA upon the completion of the Degree. This is there fore a global first where both CIMA and ACCA have provided the maximum exemptions at the end of the second year of the Degree, prior to the completion of the Degree. Receiving the exemptions at the end of the second year would provide students the opportunity to complete the Degree and the professional qualifications at the end of the three years. The degree program will accept students with pending Advanced Level results into year one. Present CIMA and ACCA students too have the opportunity of entering directly to the year 2 and year 3 of the BA (Hons) in International Business and Finance.
