La Trobe Business School, Australia announces new programs and scholarships!

A senior delegation, lead by Professor Paul Mather, Head of La Trobe Business School (LBS) of La Trobe University (LTU), Australia visited Sri Lanka again with the aim of creating new and improved opportunities for students of both countries through numerous study programs and further enhance the existing relations between the two countries. 

Professor Paul Mather said, “La Trobe University’s constant endeavour to engage with key countries in our region and to keep creating enhanced opportunities for students has brought us back to Sri Lanka this year. Our new offerings and scholarship should help students from Sri Lanka get maximum benefit from the expertise within La Trobe Business School.” 

La Trobe University has jumped about 200 places in the latest Academic Ranking of World Universities. It is placed 336th in the world and it means that the university is placed in the top 400 in the world in all three recognised international rankings of universities said Professor Paul Mather.

New LBS programs

La Trobe Business School, Australia has introduced new programs such as the ‘Bachelor of Commerce/Bachelor of Computer Science, Master of Professional Accounting (CPA Australia Extension) and Bachelor of Commerce/Bachelor of International Relations’ for both domestic as well as international markets.

La Trobe Business School, Australia is also offering programs such as the ‘Master of Business Analytics along with wide range of business and management courses’ for both domestic as well as international markets.

It is projected by 2018, the US market alone will require an additional 140,000-190,000 analytics professionals and1.5 million more managers with knowledge in analytics.

New scholarships announced

Once again La Trobe Business School, Australia is offering scholarships to the value of 15%, 20% and 25% of the total tuition fee for undergraduate as well as postgraduate International students commencing in 2017. These scholarships are merit based and will be offered to students based on their prior academic performance. These scholarships will be offered to students on a first come first serve basis. 

Other activities in Sri Lanka

4 October – La Trobe Business School and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Sri Lanka will be hosting a CFO Breakfast Briefing where Professor Paul Mather will be giving a talk on ‘The Future of Accounting: Disruption or Opportunity’.

5 October – Dr. Geraldine Kennett, a Professor of Practice at La Trobe Business School will be conducting an ‘Executive Education workshop on Corporate Governance and Risk’. This program is being conducted in collaboration with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Sri Lanka.
