Altru Circle will host a night of comedy “Under the Fibber’s Tree” or “Pacha Gaha Yata (PG-Y)”, on 3 August at Elevate by Jetwing at 5 p.m.
“Pacha Gaha Yata (PG-Y)” is a stand-up comedy fundraiser benefit organised by Altru Circle. It will feature seasoned local comedic performers paired with cocktails tailored to the artists’ personalities.
Drawing inspiration from Galle’s historical meeting and performance spot for community dreamers and doers, “Pacha Gaha Yata” promises an evening of tongue-in-cheek relatable and funny anecdotes with candour. This event marks Altru Circle’s soft launch and stands as its first fundraising initiative as a commercial venture.
Altru Circle is a social enterprise committed to fostering sustainable community development and supporting equal opportunity through innovative fundraising events and charitable activities.
“We aim to address socioeconomic disparities through inclusive access to material and experiential resources through impact-driven, socially engaged commercial ventures. The mission is to break cycles of dependence and nurture economically self-reliant communities, through linking resourceful partners to create lasting changes,” a spokesperson for Altru Circle said.
As the official celebrations partner, “100 on the Rocks” will be providing the guests with some delights designed around the personalities of the performers, presented by the Mixologist Mevan Karunaratne.
The brilliant line-up will consist of comedic performances from Isira, Tharusha, and Lulu produced by Reihan Stephen and hosted by Dominic Kellar.
Attendees can look forward to a night filled with networking, a curated F&B service, and a healthy dose of comedy brought to life by the official print partners at Anim8.lk.
The Altru Circle team, a group of leaders in their respective fields and creative minds, will be present to share their mission and discuss how they aim to develop their community-based projects that lie ahead. Join them where a reimagined concept of the performing arts meets community support to pave the way for Altru Circle’s vision as a social enterprise.
“‘Pacha Gaha Yata’ promises to be an exclusive benefit night experience and quality stand-up comedy, with a purpose. This is your opportunity to be part of a new chapter in supporting a movement towards sustainable community development projects that aim to emancipate and empower,” the spokesperson added.
