American science fiction action film “Bumblebee” will be screened in 16 Sri Lankan cinemas from today (4 January).
The theatres are Liberty by Scope Cinemas, Empire - Colombo, MC Cinemas – Colombo, Milano 2 – Kegalle, Scope Cinemas (CCC) ATMOS– Colombo 2, Regal – Gampaha and Nuwara Eliya, Savoy Colombo 04, NIT - Kurunegala, Ruoo – Katunayake, Liberty Lite, Sky Lite Malabe, Vista – Ja-Ela, Sky Lite Matara, Sigiri Katugastota and Queens Galle.
Bumblebee’ is centred on the Transformers character of the same name. It is the sixth instalment of the live-action ‘Transformers’ film series and a prequel to 2007’s ‘Transformers’.
On the run in the year 1987, Bumblebee finds refuge in a junkyard in a small Californian beach town. Charlie (Hailee Steinfeld), on the cusp of turning 18 and trying to find her place in the world, discovers Bumblebee, battle-scarred and broken. When Charlie revives him, she quickly learns this is no ordinary, yellow VW bug.
Hailee Steinfeld stars as Charlie Watson, John Cena as Jack Burns, Jorge Lendeborg Jr. as Memo, John Ortiz as Dr. Powell, Jason Drucker as Otis Watson, Pamela Adlon as Sally Watson, Rory Markham as Jake Adams, Rachel Crow as Celia, Abby Quinn as Alice, Gracie Dzienny as Tina, Ricardo Hoyos as Trip, Kenneth Choi as Ken, Stephen Schneider as Ron and Len Cariou as Hank.
