The Sri Lanka China Trade and Investment Council (SLCTIC) in collaboration with the Department of Visual & Performing Arts has invited one of China’s famous masters in water colour painting to Sri Lanka.
Master Wang Rong Mao will be in Sri Lanka with 20 collectible paintings commissioned especially for Sri Lanka. His valuable paintings have been exhibited throughout China, Malaysia, Indonesia and Hong Kong and for the first time in Sri Lanka.
Master Wang has been fond of painting since childhood and his talent, creativity and hard work has brought him international fame. His paintings depict nature, landscapes and beautiful calligraphy in traditional Chinese brush work. He is also a famous ceramic artist with unique glazing techniques.
SLCTIC President Sun Lai Yung believes that cultural and people’s exchanges are equally important between nations, besides fostering trade and investments. This is a one-time opportunity to see a unique exhibition. Admission is free.
The Master Wang Rong Mao Invitational Exhibition will be held at J.D.A. Perera Gallery, No. 46, Horton Place at the Faculty of Visual Arts, on 29, 30 and 31 July from 3:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The opening ceremony will be at 4 p.m. on 29 July, Monday.
