“Daddy’s Home 2” is a 2017 American Christmas comedy film directed by Sean Anders and written by Anders and John Morris. It stars Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg, Linda Cardellini, John Cena, John Lithgow, and Mel Gibson.

It’s the sequel to Daddy’s Home, a modern family comedy seen by millions in 2015 whose premise is almost identical to Bad Moms sequel, A Bad Moms Christmas. The Daddy versus Daddy action is compounded by the addition of two more Daddies. Will Ferrell, who plays a submissive, mini-van-driving stepdad Brad, is joined by his father, played by a glowing John Lithgow at his most effusive. Wahlberg, who plays bad-boy original daddy Dusty, is joined by his father Kurt, played by Gibson.

The plot follows; now reformed-fathers Brad and Dusty (Ferrell and Wahlberg), co-parenting Dusty’s kids wishing to make it a memorable Christmas for the kids, now have to deal with their own fathers (Lithgow and Gibson) visiting for the holidays. They arrive and turn the holiday season upside down. Having finally got used to each other’s existence another roller coaster ride takes place for Brad and Dusty who must now deal with their intrusive fathers during the holidays.

After a sudden change in plans, the four men decide to take the kids to a luxury resort for a fun-filled getaway that turns into a hilariously chaotic adventure.
