Final exhibition by Marie-Caroline Senlis in Sri Lanka

This year, the French Spring Festival organizes a pre-festival photography and sculpture exhibition, OPEN STUDIO, by Marie-Caroline Senlis. This final exhibition in Sri Lanka by Marie-Caroline Senlis gathers extracts from three years of work in Sri Lanka.

At OPEN STUDIO, you will discover various collections: Extracts, where each small photo tells a different story, but becomes becomes a new story when set together; Panorama of the sea; Patchwork, a composition of color photos featuring many stories about Sri Lanka; Lankan Residence, glimpses of special moments and places in the island; Versailles Onirique, a poetic way to discover the mood of Versailles’ Palace gardens; Misty Landscapes, where dream is always present; Walls, abstract photos giving walls, even decrepit, a new life; Portraits of Trees, in their powerful and delicate presence; A Wave, coming and going; Blooming trees, hand-painted black and white photos. Mystic, depicting the spirit you can feel in special places; and Clouds, delicate as if painted. The exhibition also features sculptures about the Soul in wood, brick, stone and clay, shapes simplified to reach the essence of human being.

Marie-Caroline Senlis is a French photographer living in Colombo. She has been living in Asia for over twenty years, and has been profoundly inspired by her different experiences in China, Pakistan, Afghanistan, India and Sri Lanka. After studies in Chinese, literature and linguistics, Marie-Caroline SENLIS focused on art and fine art studies, photography, sculpture and drawing. She has exhibited her work in France and Asia, and over the last three years, in Sri Lanka.
