Renowned conglomerate JAT Holdings, powered the latest edition of Cinnamon Colomboscope, Colombo’s most recognised multidisciplinary and contemporary arts festival.

Acknowledged as one of the country’s premier companies, JAT Holdings extended its support to the festival, by transforming its iconic venue, the former Colombo Terminus Railway Station into a vibrant and captivating exhibition space.

Founded in 1993, JAT Holdings, Sri Lanka’s premier specialist for finishing and furnishing solutions, has shown consistent commitment towards promoting the local and arts and culture landscape of Sri Lanka whilst cultivating young talent.

JAT’s partnership with Cinnamon Colomboscope also opened the doorway for Crown Paints by JAT to uplift artists from across the island. JAT Holdings created an art corner at the festival, which was exclusively coloured by Crown Paints and was dedicated to providing a bold space where young artists could paint their dreams and bring various messages and thoughts to life.

Manufactured in the United Kingdom and endorsed by a royal warrant given by her Majesty the Queen, Crown Paints has a heritage that extends over 200 years. The range of paints features a comprehensive colour palette of both striking and subtle hues that are further strengthened by 99% solvent free, anti-bacterial, fire-proof and quick-dry properties.

This year’s festival themed RE/EVOLUTION: Arts + Culture + Environment, delivered a powerful message and reiterated the utmost importance of embracing environmental sustainability and conservation.

The festival opened its doors to the public for eight consecutive days and featured the work of an array of esteemed local and international artists. The event also featured eminent experts and artists linked to pertinent fields such as agriculture, design, innovation and sustainability.

The striking and poignant works of art that were exhibited, coupled with the enriching workshops, performances and panel discussions that were hosted reached over 3,000 people, inspiring them to publicly discuss and re-imagine solutions to the environmental issues of our age.

Organised by Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts together with the John Keells Foundation, and conceptualised by the EUNIC cluster in Sri Lanka, this year’s Cinnamon Colomboscope festival provided a prominent platform for artists across the region, whilst mobilising thousands of citizens to learn more about the all-important cause of environmental sustainability.

Commenting on JAT Holdings’ debut collaboration with Cinnamon Colomboscope 2017, Sadheesh Paul – Manager Marketing, JAT stated: “We are truly delighted and honoured to have partnered with Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts to bring Colombo’s biggest and most iconic contemporary arts festival to life this year. Powering this event has been part of our ongoing commitment towards building and promoting the country’s thriving culture of creativity, and we look forward to elevating Sri Lanka’s up-and-coming artists further by supporting more events of this nature in the future.”

JAT Holdings is rapidly emerging as one of Sri Lanka’s strongest conglomerate brands offering a superior range of products and services that have effectively fulfilled the needs of an extensive clientele of retail and commercial customers for over two decades. Having captured and consistently maintained a dominant position in the local market, JAT has successfully grown in presence and stature, through innovative augmentations to its product portfolio and bold ventures into new markets across the South Asian region.
