LB Finance celebrated the phenomenal and diverse talents of the Sri Lankan youth recently when they held the grand finale of an art competition for schoolchildren. LB Finance strongly believes in the value our children create in the world and wish to bring to the fore their voices on matters of great importance.
“For LB Finance, corporate social responsibility is a way of life. It is part of what makes us who we are. And we believe in giving all our children an equal space, irrespective of where they come from, to contribute to saving our planet. As the inheritors of this planet, they are most impacted by what happens today. So we believe they must have a say as well as an active part in how they want the world to be. It does not matter if they become involved through debate, song, dance or art. They can use the method they are most skilled in, to get involved in saving the earth. Even if it may not have an impact today, their collective engagement and input will have the desired impact in the years to come.
“Also, we wish to help develop our future generation by getting them more involved in social issues so that they become better citizens. This is our overarching vision through our Future First CSR initiative, and we are proud to support the future of Sri Lanka through the impact we are having on our children.
“We believe in nurturing and motivating our future generation. Thus, this year, we held an art competition for all school students from around the country to celebrate the different talents of our children, and we received over 3,000 arts. The art competition was a part of LB Finance’s anniversary celebrations, and was held at the Mihikatha Medura at the BMICH, Colombo. The theme for the year was ‘Mihikatha Surakimu’ or ‘save the planet’. This falls in line with our overall CSR goal of conserving nature.”
