Mobitel customers can purchase tickets for movies and events on BookMyShow using mobile phone

Mobitel has partnered with a leading global entertainment destination, BookMyShow, to enable its customers to purchase tickets for the latest movies, cricket matches and other popular cultural and sporting events on BookMyShow (https://lk.bookmyshow.com) using Mobitel Post-Paid connections. This service is exclusively available to Mobitel customers and will offer them absolute convenience as they can book tickets and pay via the mobile connection. 

As Sri Lanka’s National Mobile Service Provider, Mobitel has firmly positioned itself as an Innovator, driving Sri Lanka’s ICT transformation. It is the first telecom firm to unveil a dedicated Internet of Things (IoT) concept store, X Station, the expert hub for futuristic technology products and services for people to experience the tech revolution. This partnership yet again showcases Mobitel’s readiness to spearhead global trends and be ahead of the rapidly changing technology curve in the world.

BookMyShow entered Sri Lanka in 2016 after transforming the entertainment ticketing landscape in India, New Zealand and Indonesia, consolidating its position as the market leader. The firm has expanded operations to Dubai in the Middle East and is further going deeper in South East Asia. It allows its customers to easily book tickets online for movies, events, plays and concerts from the comfort of their homes or offices. In order to use the service, customers simply need to log on to BookMyShow, select the movie or event of their choice, choose the time, date and seats (wherever applicable) convenient for them and when making the payment, choose the ‘Mobitel customer’ option. The purchases will be directly added to the customer Post-Paid bill on Mobitel.
