The Muslim Choral Ensemble will present a special performance titled ‘An Nur’ or ‘the Light’ on Monday 24 July at 7:30 p.m. at the Akbar Brothers Auditorium, Darley Road, Colombo 10.
This exceptional evening under the auspices of the Muslim Choral Ensemble, World Muslim Choral Ensemble (WMCE) in collaboration with Voices21C and the Manado University choir, promises an unforgettable experience.
The performance fosters peace and unity through the Sama International Choral Festival (SICF).
This extraordinary platform was created to celebrate the culture and heritage of Muslims globally and was conceived by visionary MCE Co-founders Haadia Galely, and Prof. Andre De Quadros.
For the past six years, MCE has tirelessly collaborated with choirs and musicians from diverse backgrounds, traversing the globe to spread a message calling for mutual tolerance and peace.
The Sama International Choral Festival is a statement of belief and a commitment to promoting cultural exchange and understanding.
“Together, we can create an environment where artists can flourish, audiences can be moved, and the world can be reminded of the beauty that exists within our shared humanity,” said Galely, who extended an invitation to all to be part of this historic milestone. “This opening event and unparalleled residency are scheduled to unfold in Sri Lanka and culminate in a symphony of cultural exchanges and celebrations,” she added.
