Romantic movie releases in SL today to mark Valentine’s Day

  • “Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy” in five SL cinemas along with re-releases of Bollywood blockbuster Padmavati 

American romantic comedy “Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy” – the fourth instalment in the Bridget Jones film series is being screened in five cinemas in Sri Lanka today (14) to mark Valentine’s Day. The cinemas are Regal Katubedda, Colombo City Centre (CCC), SCOPE Cinema - Havelock City Mall, PVR Cinemas and Kandy City Centre. 

Directed by Michael Morris, the film stars – Renée Zellweger reprising her role as Bridget Jones, alongside Hugh Grant, Emma Thompson, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Leo Woodall. The movie has been praised for balancing humor with poignant themes, offering a relatable portrayal of life’s challenges and personal growth. 

Separately, Bollywood blockbuster Padmavati, starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Shahid Kapur and Aditi Rao Hydari is being re-released today in six cinemas. These include; Regal Dematagoda, Regal Katubadda, Ram Cinema - Wattala, Colombo City Center, SCOPE cinema - Havelock City Mall and PVR Cinemas. 

In addition, “Captain America Brave New World” is being released in 34 cinemas countrywide today.
