American science-fiction action film Pacific Rim Uprising will be screened from today in 15 Lankan cinemas.
The cinemas are Liberty By Scope Cinemas – Colombo, Savoy – Colombo, NIT – Kurunagala, NIT – Ratnapura, NIT – Yatiyantota, Cinemax – Ja-Ela, Queens – Galle, Jothi – Ratnapura, Sky Lite Malabe, Roou Cinema Katunayaka, Raja – Jaffna, Suganthi – Batticaloa, Nelson – Trinco and Milano – Kegalle.
Pacific Rim Uprising is the sequel to the 2013 film Pacific Rim by Guillermo del Toro, who acted as a producer.
Directed by Steven S. DeKnight and written by DeKnight, Emily Carmichael, Kira Snyder, and T.S. Nowlin, Pacific Rim Uprising cast include John Boyega (also making his producer debut), Scott Eastwood, Cailee Spaeny, and Jing Tian, with Adria Arjona, with Rinko Kikuchi, Charlie Day, and Burn Gorman returning from the original film.
Jake Pentecost is a once-promising Jaeger pilot whose legendary father gave his life to secure humanity’s victory against the monstrous Kaiju. Jake has since abandoned his training only to become caught up in a criminal underworld. But when an even more unstoppable threat is unleashed to tear through cities and bring the world to its knees, Jake is given one last chance by his estranged sister, Mako Mori, to live up to his father’s legacy.
