A blood donation program was organised by the Sri Lankan community in Oman under the patronage of Sri Lanka’s Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman, Ameer Ajwad to coincide with the Vesak festival.
The blood donation program was conducted at the premises of the Sri Lanka Embassy in Muscat in association with the Central Blood Bank of the Ministry of Health of the Sultanate of Oman, Sri Sambutthatwa Jayanthi Viharaya Committee and the Sri Lanka Community Social Club in Oman. Over 100 members of the Sri Lankan community in Oman volunteered and donated their blood to the Central Blood Bank of the Sultanate of Oman.
Ambassador Ameer Ajwad commended the Sri Lankan community in Oman for their invaluable humanitarian gesture of expressing solidarity with the people of the host country. He also extended his sincere appreciation to the medical staff of the Central Blood Bank of the Sultanate for their kind and dedicated services throughout the program.
A free medical camp was also organised by Sri Lankan medical doctors serving in the Sultanate for the benefit of the participants during the program.
