BIA Christmas Shopping Festival 2012/2013

For the 3rd consecutive year, all shop operators at BIA together with Airport and Aviation Services Ltd. (AASL) organised a grand Christmas Shopping Festival 2012/ 2013 to encourage passengers to do shopping in the airport premises. This is mainly organised to promote the airport among passengers. Shopping Festival 2012/ 2013 was launched on 01 December 2012 and concluded on 31 January 2013.

Etisalat and Nations Trust Bank came on board this year as main sponsors of the BIA Christmas Shopping Festival adding value and colour to the event.

The Grand draw of the Shopping Festival was held on 4 April 2013 and the Prize-giving ceremony was held on 24 April 2013 at BIA Arrival Terminal.

Gampaha SL Army Engineering Unit’s Anura Wijeratne was selected as the Grand Prize Winner and he received the brand new Panda Cross Car which was sponsored by Micro Car Company.

The winning coupon has been issued by World Duty Free Shop and Wijeratne expressed his sincere appreciation for organising the Shopping Festival and thereby providing him with the opportunity to win such a grand prize.

The other 10 winners of the draw were, P.K. Indika, Sarath Mathagaweera, K.G. Chandana Roshantha Perera, R.M. Sriyalatha, Indeewari Ratnayaka, Dileepa Ratnayake, P.S.L. Amerasinghe, D.A. Perera and Samith Ishara Fernando who won Laptops, Refrigerators, Singer Washing Machines, Sony Bravia Colour TV (40” LCD) and  Samsung Colour TV (40’ LCD) as gifts.
