iflix, Southeast Asia’s leading Internet TV service, is thrilled to premiere the first installment of Syfy’s acclaimed horror anthology series Channel Zero in Sri Lanka. Beginning November 20th, all six-episodes of the entire first season, Candle Cove, will be available exclusively to iflix members to download and binge watch.
Produced by Universal Cable Productions, Channel Zero: Candle Cove, is based on Kris Straub’s chilling “creepypasta” short story that gained notoriety online. It centers on one man’s obsessive recollection of a mysterious children’s television program from the 1980s – and his ever-growing, dreadful suspicions about the role it might have played in a series of nightmarish and deadly events from his childhood.
Mike Painter (Paul Schneider, Parks and Recreation) returns to the hometown he left as a kid only to relive the happenings of years ago when his brother was one of five children murdered in a case that was never solved. Painter’s trauma brings with him memories of a bizarre and hypnotic children’s television program, filled with frightening puppets and foreboding instructions. But when children from the town begin to go missing once more, Mike finds himself at the center of the mystery, with dark secrets and unexplained happenings all linked to the show, Candle Cove.
iflix Group Chief Content Officer, James Bridges, commented: “Critics are raving about the new horror anthology series Channel Zero. We are incredibly excited to make all six episodes of the heart-stopping, terrifying first season, Candle Cove, available exclusively to our members in Sri Lanka. Channel Zero: Candle Cove delivers a legitimately gripping tale of terror through its eerie and unsettling imagery and masterful story telling.”
