Elephant House soft drinks and ice cream has become even more popular lately, following the brand’s recent sponsorship of the sold-out Colombo concert for top Indian singing talent Shreya Ghoshal. Further, this sponsorship allowed fans of the brand to truly enjoy Shreya’s sold-out Colombo concert, watching it with their favourite Elephant House soft drinks and ice cream flavours in hand for maximum consumer delight.
Held recently, the Shreya Ghoshal concert at Havelock Grounds was one of the most highly anticipated events to take place in Sri Lanka to date. And Elephant House, Sri Lanka’s most popular soft drinks and ice cream brand, stepped up to sign on as the concert’s ‘Ice Cream and Soft Drinks Sponsor’.
Skyrocketing to fame as a result of her songs for smash Bollywood hit ‘Devdas’, which also had a very popular run in Sri Lankan cinemas, Shreya has since lent her unique talents to a number of other top-grossing Bollywood movies, such as ‘Parineetha’, ‘Jism’, ‘Khakee’, ‘Main Hoon Na’, ‘Dhoom’ and ‘Paheli’. However, her singing talents extend beyond just the Hindi language, to Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Gujarati, Marathi and Punjabi. She even performed a song in Sinhala at her most recent concert in Colombo.
Shreya is further notable because she is not only a top Bollywood playback singer but also the No. 5 ‘most liked’ Facebook celebrity in India, after YoYo Honey Singh, Narendra Modi, Sachin Tendulkar and Deepika Padukone, featuring just less than 23.5 million ‘likes’ thus far. She also has 3.4 million Twitter followers.
Commenting on this sold-out event, Elephant House Head of Beverages and John Keells Holdings Vice President Daminda Gamlath said, “We are proud to partner with Shreya Ghoshal during her first Sri Lankan concert. Shreya is a role model for today’s youth and a breakout talent that comes along once in a generation. As such, we were also happy to help give Sri Lankans more and more opportunities to see big name stars such as Shreya on our own shores, which will also surely benefit the thousands upon thousands of fans of Elephant House ice cream and soft drinks, who are likely to attend these concerts.”
