Eurovision star to serenade guests at Taj Samudra

Talented Croatian vocalist Sanja Lukanovic is all set to entertain guests at The Lattice of Taj Samudra Colombo’s stylish new lobby lounge. Sanja will perform at The Lattice from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. from Tuesday to Sunday and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. every Sunday during the Brunch at the Latitude.

The 36 year old singer who has had a passion for singing since winning a children’s singing competition at just 11, has been part of many national music festivals in her long musical career. Sanja was also part of the preliminary Croatian round of the famed Eurovision song competition in 1999 and impressed the competition judges with her soulful performance of the Croatian song ‘Jos Jednom’ (Once Again). 

Since then it has been a long and successful journey in the music industry for the vibrant, lively and talented soprano. Sanja was recruited by leading music agencies and has performed at many prominent hotels in Europe like the Millennium Hotel, the Ambassador Hotel, and the Sheraton Hotel in her home country, Bulgari Milano Hotel in Italy, the International Vienna Hotel in Austria, and the Four Seasons Gresham Palace in Hungary. 

Her most recent stint was at the Taj Krishna in Hyderabad, India. Being quite a crowd pleaser, Sri Lankan music lovers can look forward to her renditions of popular yesteryear hits such as Gimme! Gimme!, Hotel California and Footloose as well as more modern singles such as Rolling in the Deep and Poker Face.

Sanja will be adding a touch of class to the season as well with her renditions of popular Christmas classics at the Taj Samudra’s new elegant lobby lounge. The Lattice is a perfect venue to meet friends, hold informal business meetings or to enjoy some soothing music while having a relaxed evening with the family. At the lounge guests are spoiled for choice with a wide range of coffees and fine Sri Lankan teas, beverages along with an array of delectable snacks. 

The large and spacious area lit with natural light also has an elaborate English tea service with a Sri Lankan twist along with a bar serving a variety of cocktails. The casual but chic venue is open from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.
