Exciting line up of movies on Hiru TV

  Hiru TV has lined up several top Sinhala movies this weekend starting Friday for the entertainment of its viewers. On 20 February at 1:30 p.m. it will telecast Kiduru Kumari directed by Sunil Ariyaratne and at 10 p.m. it will air Akasa Kusum (Flowers of the Sky). Akasa Kusum is a 2008 film from prolific Sri Lankan filmmaker Prasanna Vithanage. It received a world premiere at the Pusan International Film Festival in October 2008, and won numerous awards at various other festivals. The film was released on August 2009, and became a box-office hit. It was also Sri Lanka’s initial entry to the 2010 Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film. On Sunday 22 February at 12 noon Hiru TV will show Bahubuthayo, a fascinating story of the hilarious experience of two young journalists Bunty (Rodney Warnakula) and Lanti (Mahendra Perera), who go out on an assignment to the southern village of Kirindiwela (according to legend, the abode of evil spirits in ancient times) to write a feature on devil dancing and exorcist rituals, for a travel publication.
