01Sri Lanka’s ‘Feel Good’ radio station Red 107.8 marked its one year anniversary recently, hosting a sensational celebration that was well-attended by local celebrities and high society personalities as well as corporate leaders. Over the past year, Red 107.8 has set itself apart by not just delivering crystal clear coverage, but also being different from others by focusing on playing only the very best music from the ‘80s and ‘90s, and cutting out the clutter so you can listen with pleasure.

On hand to headline Red 107.8’s fabulous first anniversary celebration was the legendary Wildfire, a very popular band, well known in Sri Lanka’s party scene, who played for the first time since they recently re-united. There were also sensational sets of ‘80s and ‘90s music provided by the incomparable Red 107.8 DJs.

Each and every song played on Red 107.8 is well known by the majority of English language radio listeners in Sri Lanka, comprising predominantly ‘Feel Good’ popular hits from the ‘80s and ‘90s. Most important of all, these are song that one seldom hears anywhere else, marking Red 107.8 as a true companion to your best memories.

Due to this heady mix, Red 107.8 has now become firmly established within the radio industry. In what seems like virtually no time at all, RED 107.8 has managed to capture the imagination of a large, dedicated audience, having emerged as a new standard for premier entertainment on the airwaves.

Importantly, Red 107.8 was also at the forefront of some of the most headline grabbing musical events throughout the last year, most notable of all being the concert featuring two-time Grammy Award winners Arrested Development. There were also a number of smaller, yet more innovative events and promos that captured the imagination of Red 107.8 fans.

Going forward, Red 107.8 has big, unyielding plans for its continuing takeover of Sri Lanka’s radio waves. Chief among these is its promise to take its unique sound to the far reaches of the country. Red 107.8 has also already begun the process of planning and booking acts for many more big events. However, through all this, Red 107.8’s overarching goal will remain the same, maintain its endemic blend of quality programming focused on ‘80s and ‘90s music, which further sets itself apart by continuing to be different to whatever else is on offer today.
