Hiru TV lineup of top movies this weekend

Hiru TV has lined up a series of movies for the entertainment of its viewers over the weekend starting from today. On Friday, at 1:30 p.m. it will telecast the 1974 hit in Sinhala cinema ‘Ahas Gawwa’. The black and white Sinhala movie directed by Dharmasena Pathiraja and the film stars Vijaya Kumaranatunga, Amarasiri Kalansuriya, Swarna Mallawarachchci, Manik Kurululasuriya and Shanthi Lekha

Friday at 10 p.m. the Sinhala movie ‘Dorakada Maarawa’ will be shown. Directed by Wasantha Obeysekara, the cast of the film includes Sanath Gunathilake, Sangeetha Weeraratne, Veena Jayakody, Sathischandra Edirisinghe, Rex Kodippili, Chandani Seneviratne, Buddhadasa Vithanarachchi. On Saturday at 12 noon another Sinhala movie made in 1993 ‘Yasasa’ will be aired. Directed by Ananda Wickramasinghe, the film stars Nadeeka Gunasekara, Sangeetha Weeraratne, Veena Jayakody, Cleatus Mendis, Roy De Silva and Freddie Silva. On Sunday noon, popular Hindi action movie ‘Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty’ will be telecast. This action thriller is written and directed by A.R. Murugadoss and features Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead roles, along with Govinda, Freddy Daruwala and Sumeet Raghavan in supporting roles. It is also a remake of the 2012 Tamil film ‘Thuppakki’.
