LOS ANGELES (Variety.com): Just when we thought the Harry Potter franchise was finally over, Rowling says “J.K.”
Author J.K. Rowling announced on Pottermore.com Wednesday morning that three new e-books, “Pottermore Presents,” will be released on 6 September. The petite stories will further explore the infinite world of Harry Potter created by Rowling, and “dig deep into the Harry Potter stories, with titbits taken from Pottermore’s archives and original writing from J.K. Rowling,” according to the website.
The three stories to be released are titled: “Hogwarts: An Incomplete and Unreliable Guide”; “Short Stories from Hogwarts of Power, Political and Pesky Poltergeists”; and “Short Stories from Hogwarts of Heroism, Hardship and Dangerous Hobbies.” The cover art was designed by Miraphora Mina and Eduardo Lima – known as Mina Lima – the same team behind the artwork of the Harry Potter film franchise.
“Hogwarts: An Incomplete and Unreliable Guide” will focus on the iconic wizarding school itself, and will provide further details about the Hogwarts ghosts and “what happens when the Sorting Hat can’t decide on a student’s house,” according to Pottermore’s statement.
“Short Stories from Hogwarts of Power, Political and Pesky Poltergeists” will feature new information and stories on Professor Horace Slughorn, written by Rowling herself, and will dig deeper into the terrifying nature of Azkaban prison.
The final story “Short Stories from Hogwarts of Heroism, Hardship and Dangerous Hobbies” will focus on many of the Hogwarts professors, including Remus Lupin and Minerva McGonagall. The book will also provide new information on McGonagall’s role in the second wizarding war.
The e-book is already available for pre-sale. For only $ 3 a piece, surely one can conjure enough Sickles and Galleons to acquire a copy.
