KPMG in Sri Lanka, in partnership with the up-and-coming theatre troupe ‘Cold Theatre Seven’ will be staging an exclusive performance of the play ‘And Then There Were None’ by Agatha Christie in aid of KPMG Foundation library projects in the Northern Province.
Exclusive performance
An exclusive performance, which will be directed by Kevin Cruze, will take place on Sunday, 3 November at 4 p.m. at the British School Auditorium.
The KPMG Foundation, along with the KPMG Alumni Association most recently constructed libraries in the Ramanathapuram Government Tamil Mixed School in Kilinochchi and the Vattappalai Maha Vidyalayam Mixed School in Mullaitivu, providing library facilities and other stationery items to students. This new fundraising initiative will fund future KPMG library projects aimed at providing basic facilities to students who need it the most.
Greater access to education
Commenting on the initiative, KPMG in Sri Lanka Partner for alumni and sustainability Suren Rajakarier stated, “Our aim through the library projects is to provide greater access to education.
Our recent visit to the Kilinochchi and Mullaitivu regions highlighted the lack of library facilities in schools around the area and we are proud to be a part of the many companies that have been helping schools by setting up library facilities. We intend to expand the KPMG Library Project program by extending further support to other schools in the coming year.”
