‘Needle Creations’ has organised its second annual exhibition and sale of work from 25 to 27 November at No: 983/D, Lake Drive, Pannipitiya Road, Pelawatte, Battaramulla.
Needle Creations, is the first of its kind in Sri Lanka catering to students in the three language streams from the novice to the experienced taught with the help of modern teaching aides including magnifying lights.
Situated in a picturesque setting overlooking the Diyawana Garden Lake in Pelawatte is the idyllic setting for the one-stop-shop featuring materials required for needle craft, books for reference and a marketing outlet for students’ creations.
The brains behind the idea are Ramani Liyanage and Shamini Rockwood. Both Ramani and Shamini have received extensive training in needle craft in America, New Zealand, Australia and Sri Lanka. They have exhaled in needle craft turning out some of the finest in: Shadow work, appliqué, Hard anger, Sri Lankan and Brazilian embroidery, patch work, ribbon work, black work, cross stitch, needle painting, Ruskin lace, stump work and candle wicking.
