The South Korean Embassy in Sri Lanka successfully held the opening ceremony of the 2016 Korean Film Festival at the National Film Corporation (NFC) Theatre in Colombo on 14 October.
Secretary of Ministry of Parliamentary Reforms and Mass Media Nimal Bopage graced the occasion as its Chief Guest on behalf of the Sri Lankan Government. There were also about 300 guests from the Government, diplomatic missions and the general public.
A comedy-drama, ‘Born to Sing’, was screened as the opening film.
The Korean Film Festival screened four Korean films from 14 to 17 October, with more than 930 guests watching the films. The festival was co-hosted by the embassy and the Korea Foundation, in partnership with the NFC.
