The High Commission of Sri Lanka in Singapore with the sponsorship of Interiors Aeroservices, Concordway Ltd., SriLankan Airlines and several Sri Lankan expatriate organisations and groups organised a Cultural Show on 10 May in Singapore at the PGP Hall of the Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple in Singapore.
The diverse cultural show consisted of performances by Sri Lanka’s renowned ‘Channa Upuli Dance Ensemble’, Sri Lanka Expatriate Community Dance Troupes, Sri Lanka Catholics Group Dance Troupe, Sri Lankaramaya Sunday School Dance Troupe and the Apsaras – Hindu Group Dance Troupe in Singapore.
The Acting High Commissioner of Sri Lanka in Singapore, together with the High Commissioner of Bangladesh, the Singapore High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, the Deputy High Commissioner of India and representatives of the main and cosponsors of the event respectively, Interiors Aeroservices, Concordway Ltd. and SriLankan Airlines, including the Director of the Channa Upuli Performing Arts Foundation and the Presidents of Singapore Sinhala Association, the Singapore Sinhala Buddhist Association, Singapore Sri Lanka Business Association and representative from the Maha Karuna Buddhist Association, the Catholic Society in Singapore, the migrant workers association and the Sri Lankan Expatriates in Singapore, lit the traditional oil lamp to open the cultural show.
