Sudath Abeysekara’s installation art exhibition ‘Two25 Crows’ on 10-11 March at Lionel Wendt

Trend-setting Sri Lankan artist Sudath Abeysekara’s installation art exhibition ‘Two25 Crows’ will be held from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on 10 and 11 March at Lionel Wendt, Colombo.

The exhibition based on the theme of ‘Crow, the queer creature’ is held by Sudath to share his analytical views on socio-political issues with art lovers, both local and foreign will add a new dimension to art exhibitions in Sri Lanka. Art lovers will get the opportunity of understanding reality in a new perspective through this installation art exhibition presented as an effort of analysing socio-political behavioral patterns in comparison to crow’s characteristics, habits and behavior.

Sudath has held a number of installation art exhibitions including a series of installation art exhibitions ‘Contemporary Youth’ (2000), ‘David, Lotus and Butterfly’ (2003), ‘Media Barbeque’ (2004), ‘Media Stress’ (2010), ‘Baby Cot’ (2013) and ‘Form Dform’ (2014) in the past.

With the intention of popularizing the concept of installation art in Sri Lanka, Sudath is planning to focus more on it and hold more installation art exhibitions in the years to come. The opening ceremony of ‘Two25 Crows’ installation art exhibition will be graced by distinguished guests including artists, politicians and students at 6 p.m. on 9 March at Lionel Wendt. After 10 and 11 March, the exhibition will be held for a period of one month from 15 March to 15 April at Artway Gallery, Nugegoda.
