To commemorate the 150th anniversary of Methodist College Colombo, the Old Girls Association is busy planning ‘Triple Gold’, a dinner dance to be held at the Cinnamon Grand on Saturday, 17 September.
There was no hesitation in the choice of the hotel, when one was celebrating timelessness and tradition, which is the epitome of the school. The fact that all tickets for the 42 tables sold out three months before the event, gives an indication of the eagerness with which the alumni is looking forward to this dance. Many alumni are flying in from overseas, making it an excuse to hold a batch reunion as well.
Numerous sponsorships were received from companies and individuals and the OGA committee is very grateful to them all.
Media sponsors are Daily Mirror, Sunday Times, Daily FT and Hi, together with Gold FM.
The OGA committee and the Dance committee are working hard to ensure that it will be a very memorable event for all who attend. The dinner dance will be preceded by cocktails and breakfast awaits those who dance all night. There will be many table prizes and draws, including nine air tickets to different destinations.
Magic Box Mixup and Glory will be the two bands in attendance to keep the crowd swinging all night, plus a DJ.
Shift Solutions Ltd. is handling the décor and a presentation to bring back memories in a virtual atmosphere of the school.
Vraie Balthazaar, a past pupil herself, will compere the event.
For all those who were quick enough to snap up the tickets, the dance will be a lot of fun with superlative food and music, which is bound to create a lot of camaraderie, as alumni across the globe, reunite on that day.All proceeds from this will go towards the school’s 150th Anniversary Building, which is being constructed to mark this historic occasion.
