Union Bank reached a milestone with the opening of its 60th branch in Ratmalana on 1 August 2014. The branch is located at 143c, Galle Road, Mount City, Ratmalana. The Ratmalana branch was ceremonially opened by Union Bank of Colombo PLC Director Priyantha Fernando and Dehiwela-Mount Lavinia Deputy Mayor Kesaralal Gunasekera in the presence of Union Bank Director/CEO Anil Amarasuriya.
Addressing the gathering, Fernando stated, “The bank’s presence is now felt in every corner of the country as we have branch presence in every province and district. The branch network has been rapidly expanding from 35 branches two years ago to 60 branches as at date. The successful implementation of a new Core Banking system during the first half of 2014 has enabled the delivery of more efficient services to customers.
For greater convenience of customers Union Bank has joined the LankaPay common ATM switch which enables the withdrawal of cash from several other bank ATMs through a common ATM network. Shortly UBC will also be introducing a debit card.”
