AIT launches 8th batch of Professional Master’s in Banking and Finance program

The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) School of Management recently launched the Professional Master’s in Banking and Finance (PMBF) batch 8 in collaboration with the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka (IBSL) and National Banking Institute Ltd. (NBI) of Nepal. 

The PMBF program is aimed at enhancing personal and professional development while gaining a recognised degree in just one year. It gives the participants a regionally relevant experience while providing opportunities for valuable business networking in a hands-on curriculum. Some of its focus areas are strategic thinking including partnerships, digital initiatives and new business models and managing and leading change.

Director General C.P.A. Karunatilake at the launch held virtually said IBSL is an organisation that is committed to guiding professionals in the world of banking and finance. He said IBSL has had a very strong collaboration with the AIT given the quality of its programs in enhancing skills and knowledge of professionals in the banking and finance sector of Sri Lanka.

CEO Kumar Lamsal said NBI is a reputed finance and banking academy based in Nepal and stressed on the significance of this degree as well as its own experience in partnering AIT.

The Bangkok-based AIT is a prestigious postgraduate institution that is recognised for preparing graduates for greater success in the fields of engineering, environment, and management studies. Founded in 1959, AIT is an Asian institute with a global reputation that has been the foundation for many distinguished alumni who have excelled around the world across all domains and industries. 

AIT Vice President for Knowledge Transfer Dr. Naveed Anwar spoke about the institute and its commitment to giving students a solid foundation adapting to the current pandemic restrictions. Further AIT School of Management Dean Dr. Roger Levermore and Program Director Dr. Sundar Venkatesh emphasised  the value of PMBF program, the significance of the material and the experience for the participants.

The event concluded with an introduction to the Learning Management System (LMS) conducted by AIT Senior Program Officer Dr. Nguyen Quynh Phuong further highlighted the innovative steps taken by AIT for graduates to continue studies with the current pandemic situation without compromising the learning experience.
