Acuity Partners appoints dynamic banker Damith Pallewatte as Chairman

 Acuity Partners has announced the appointment of Damith Pallewatte as its new Chairman. 

Pallewatte takes over the reins from DFCC Bank CEO Thimal Perera who successfully completed his two-year tenure as Chairman (2022-2024) and provided steady leadership to the Firm through the most turbulent time that the Sri Lankan economy has witnessed. 

Pallewatte counts over 28 years of extensive experience in the banking sector, including over 14 years in senior corporate management positions.

Pallewatte currently serves as the Acting Chief Executive Officer at Hatton National Bank PLC. Prior to same, he was the Deputy General Manager of the Wholesale Banking Group, overseeing key business verticals including Large /Emerging Corporates, Project Finance, Transaction Banking, Trade Finance, Financial Institutions, Custody and Trustee Services and Islamic Banking. He has also held the positions of Deputy General Manager Risk/Chief Risk Officer/Chief Information Security Officer at Hatton National Bank.

Pallewatte holds an MBA from PIM-SJP, a BSc. Management (Hons.) from the London School of Economics and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK), a Chartered Global Management Accountant, and a Certified Financial Risk Manager from Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP).
