Amana Takaful Life appoints Pushpakumar to Board of Directors

Amana Takaful Life has announced the appointment of Pushpakumar Gunasekera as an Independent Non-Executive Director.

He currently serves as an independent Actuarial Consultant, providing services in the areas of Life insurance and Employee retirement benefits.

He began his career at Eagle insurance Co. Ltd. Sri Lanka as a Management Trainee and gradually advanced to his appointment as General Manager Actuarial, accumulating seventeen years of experience along the way. Thereafter, he held the position of General Manager Actuarial at Union

Assurance PLC for seven years before embarking on his independent Actuarial Consultancy. Alongside his tenure in Sri Lanka, he also underwent training and gained experience with overseas insurance entities located in Cheltenham UK, Hong Kong and Zurich within the Eagle Star insurance Group and Zurich Financial Services Group.

He has over 25 years of senior management experience in product pricing, regulatory valuations, employee benefit valuations, experience analytics, business projections & planning, strategy development and risk management in Life lnsurance.

Pushpakumar is an Actuary/Associate of the institute of Actuaries Australia (AIAA) with over 20 years of post-qualifying experience. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics (First Class) from University of Colombo, Postgraduate Diploma in Actuarial Science from City University UK and MBA from Postgraduate institute of Management at University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
