Reaffirming its commitment to upholding information security standards, Amãna Bank has once again achieved successful affirmation of its ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certification. A world-recognised accreditation for information protection and security, the ISO certification was bestowed by Bureau Veritas Sri Lanka, an accredited body of the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS), in lieu of the management of information security pertaining to IT services and infrastructure provided by the Bank’s Information Technology Department and Disaster Recovery Site, after conducting an independent and thorough system review and audit.

Reflecting on the affirmation, Amãna Bank’s Chief Information Officer Mohamed Kiyasudeen stated: “We are delighted to announce that our Bank has once again received the prestigious ISO/IEC 270001:2013 certification, reaffirming our unwavering commitment to providing a secure banking environment for our customers. This achievement, supported by the audit results of Bureau Veritas, testifies our dedication to maintaining robust information security practices and continuously ensuring the safeguarding of customer privacy and information security. By adhering to the highest global standards, we ensure the utmost protection to our valued customers, particularly in today’s technology-dependent world.”

ISO/IEC 27001:2013 is a specification that enables certification in Information Security Management Systems and is the highest certification benchmark for information security management globally. The evaluation conducted by Bureau Veritas encompassed a meticulous review of the Bank’s risk management frameworks, operational processes and security controls, assuring customers, shareholders, regulatory authorities, and other stakeholders that Amãna Bank has implemented effective information security measures, ensuring the availability, integrity and confidentiality of customer information.

Amãna Bank PLC is a stand-alone institution licensed by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka and listed on the Colombo Stock Exchange with Jeddah-based IsDB Group being the principal shareholder having a 29.97% shareholding of the Bank.
