Amãna Takaful gets new CEO

Amãna Takaful PLC has announced the appointment of Shehan Feisal as the new CEO with effect from 20 July 2020.

The Acting Interim CEO Zaid Ibnu Aboobucker will revert to his original designation of General Manager - Operations and Medical.

Amãna Takaful described the new CEO as a result-oriented, growth-driven leader with over 25 years of extensive technical and managerial experience in the insurance industry, having worked for both local and multinational companies.

Over the years he has specialised in underwriting property and casualty, medical, marine, motor and miscellaneous classes of insurance including claims and reinsurance.

Feisal has in the past held the position of Head of Commercial (Technical P&C)/Chief Underwriting Officer for Allianz Insurance Lanka Ltd., reporting directly to the CEO as well as the regional office in Singapore. Prior to that he was the AGM-Technical at Janashakthi General Insurance. He was also a team member of Amãna Takaful for over 9 years, being a key member of setting the Company up from its inception in 1990.
