Anandhiy appointed LB Finance Chairperson

Independent Non-Executive Director Anandhiy Gunawardhana has been appointed as the Chairperson of LB Finance PLC.

The move follows the recent retirement of Shirani Jayasekara. 

Gunawardhana was appointed to the LB Finance Board in March 2013 and was the Chairperson of the Remuneration Committee, Member of the Audit Committee, Integrated Risk Management Committee, and Nomination Committee.

She is an Attorney-at-Law and a Partner of Julius and Creasy, Attorneys-at-Law and Notaries

Public.

She is also a Director of Messrs Jacey and Company, Jacey Trust Services Ltd., Jacey Advisory Services Ltd., Jacey & Company Lanka Ltd., and Brand Protection Services Ltd., affiliate companies of Julius & Creasy engaged in providing ancillary services, and of Corporate Holdings Ltd., which is an investment company. She also served on the Board of John Keells PLC. 

Gunawardhana graduated from the University of Colombo’s Faculty of Law in 1995 with Second Class (Upper Division) Honours and also secured First Class Honours at the Attorneys-at-Law (Final) Examination in 1996, conducted by the Sri Lanka Law College. 

She is a Fulbright Scholar and was awarded the Master of Laws (LL.M. with Distinction) by Georgetown University, Washington DC, in May 2000 and, thereafter, served a seven-month internship with the International Monetary Fund’s Legal Department in Washington D.C. Her areas of specialisation are Corporate and Commercial Law, Mergers and Acquisitions. 

With the latest change, the Board of LB Finance comprises A.K. Gunawardhana, K.D.D. Perera (Executive Deputy Chairman), J.A.S.S. Adhihetty (Managing Director), N. Udage, St. B.D. Auburn Perera, R.S. Yatawara, Y. Bhaskaran, M.A.J.W. Jayasekara, A. Natesan, and D. Rangalle.
