Aruni joins Softlogic Finance Board

Aruni Goonetilleke has been appointed to the Softlogic Finance Plc Board as an Independent Non-Executive Director with effect from 31 August.

Aruni is a financial services expert with over 25 years of experience in regional, financial markets. She has extensive experience in enterprise risk management, credit, audit, business origination and has held leadership position in local and international banks. 

Her last role was Head of Corporate Banking at Peoples bank where she was responsible for a large portfolio of public and private sector. Immediately prior to that, she was the head of credit for Commercial Banking, at Standard Chartered Bank, Singapore. She has also held the position of Head of the Credit for SME at Standard Chartered Bank, Singapore, Chief Risk Officer, Standard Chartered Bank, Sri Lanka and global audit roles in wholesale and retail Bank and special Asset Management at Standard Chartered Bank Singapore.

She has her Master in Law from Harvard Law School, Harvard University USA and Bachelor of Law (Hons) from the Faculty of Law University of Colombo. She was a visiting lecturer in law at the University of Colombo.

She is on the Board of Trustees of the Oasis School of Colombo and the Chair of the Governors Committee. She is an Independent Non-Executive Director of Tea Small Holder Factories PLC and Sunshine Holdings PLC.

With the latest appointment the Board of Directors of Softlogic Finance Plc comprises A.R. Davison (Chairman), M.H.P. Wijesekara, H.K. Kaimal, M. Fernando, D.P. Renganathan and A. Goonetilleke.
