Association of Professional Bankers of Sri Lanka congratulates new Govt.

The Association of Professional Bankers of Sri Lanka (APB), in a statement yesterday congratulated the newly-elected Government and extended its support to achieve a prosperous and economically independent country. 

APB is the only professional body comprising banking professionals representing the entire banking industry.

In its statement APB said: “We would like to extend our warm wishes to the newly elected Government of Sri Lanka. We are certain that the country’s future will be safe and prosperous under the visionary leadership of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.  

“As per the Vision Statement of His Excellency, we are so pleased to note the decision to implement a People-centric Economy and the probable development of a National Economic Policy in the future which augurs well for the present and future generations of the country. 

“Further, we would like to congratulate Hon. Prime Minister, Mahinda Rajapaksa, who got a very strong mandate from the electorate to drive the Sri Lankan economy in the right direction, as the Hon. Minister of Finance. With his 50 years long experience in serving the people of our beloved motherland, we firmly believe that he will encounter the future challenges fearlessly and successfully, as he has dealt with in the past and accelerate the economic growth of the country.

“We also would like to congratulate Hon. State Minister of Finance, Capital Market, and State Enterprise Reforms, Mr. Ajith Nivard Cabraal on his new appointment and extend our best wishes to him in fulfilling his duties and responsibilities at fullest. Being a former Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, with all his expertise, his contribution will no doubt strengthen the country and the economy.  

“The people of Sri Lanka have given a clear mandate to the HE the President and all the eminent personalities elected to the Parliament to form a powerful government, capable of fulfilling the people’s aspirations for a prosperous Sri Lanka. APB, once more, extends best wishes to the newly elected government to all its future endeavors, to usher in a bountiful future for the country. We too look forward to joining hands with the Government of Sri Lanka to provide the required expertise to make the country and the people of Sri Lanka prosperous, economically independent and flourished than ever before.”
