BOC relocated its Ahangama branch to their new premises in No. 54 Galle Road, Ahangama recently. The General Manager K.E.D. Sumanasiri, Deputy General Manager – Sales and Channel Management Priyal Silva, Deputy General Manager – Retail Banking Nilantha Menerapitiya, Assistant General Manager – Southern Province Ajith Karunarathna, Assistant General Manager – Marketing Aruna Hettiarachchi and staff members of the southern province office and Ahangama branch also participated for this event.
The Ahangama branch commenced as an extension office of the Galle Branch in 2006. Subsequently, on 8 April 2013, it was converted as a fully-fledged BOC branch. Ahangama is an area famed for stilt fishing, fisheries activities and as a destination for tourists who seek surfing, sedate and relaxing holidaying.
The new branch will provide convenient banking services in a modern and a spacious ambience to the residence of the area. This branch too is networked with other 646 BOC branches across the country and enables the customers of the area to do transaction with any part of the country with much ease.
The branch offers an array of banking products and services such as savings and current accounts, fixed deposits, investment plans, housing and personal loans, educational loans leasing, mortgage facilities, special development loan services.
Enabling customers with digital banking, the Ahangama branch provides digital banking facilities such as ‘SmartGen Account’ facilty, ‘SmartPay’, Smart Online Banking, Mobile Banking (‘B-App’), E-Commerce Debit/Credit card and foreign remittance facilities, and it is also equipped with 24/7-activated ATM/CRM for added convenience.
With the intent to reach all Sri Lankans inclusively, the Bank of Ceylon has extended its reach through ‘BOC connect’, ‘Branch on Wheels’, Smart zone and self-serving BOC ‘DIGI’ branches, apart from its traditional bank branch network.
