BOC introduces ‘SME Online’ loan request facility

Bank of Ceylon (BOC), the State-owned largest commercial bank in Sri Lanka, recently embarked into another new customer-centric feature by unveiling the official ‘SME Online’ loan application process. The inauguration was held recently at the BOC’s TV premise with the patronage of the bank’s General Manager K.E.D. Sumanasiri, Deputy General Manager – Sales and Channel Management Priyal Silva, Chief Marketing Officer Sameera Liyanage, AGM – Development Banking D.A.S.S. Wimalasiri, AGM – Province Sales Management Udaya Kumari, AGM – Marketing A.T Hettiarachchi, and officials of Development Banking Division participated to the launch.

The BOC, in its pursuit to enhance the facilities and opportunities available to Sri Lankan Small and Medium Entrepreneurs (SMEs), has provided modern digital banking facilities. In recent times, the world saw virtual transactions gaining momentum. The bank, while keeping its customer centricity intact embarked on this online SME loan application processing without neglecting the SME sector of the country during this pandemic time.

This SME online service could be obtained simply by logging into the BOC website and by filling the simple application form in any language the customer prefers. (Sinhala, Tamil, English). The filled application will reach the Development Banking Division of BOC, and after the initial processing process, the application will be referred to the respective Area Managers and then to the relevant branch through an online process for the final execution and completion. The process will take within minimum time possible depending on availability of minimum required documents.

With an array of loan schemes to fulfil different requirements of the SMEs, the bank wishes to cater with an futuristic view to enhance the contribution of sectors such as Agriculture, Fisheries, Dairy farming and manufacturing towards the national economy.
