Bank of Ceylon’s ‘A’ Team emerges as Overall Champions at Inter Bank Trade Quiz 2018

The Bank of Ceylon’s ‘A’ team came on top of the Inter Bank Trade Quiz 2018 organised by the Trade Finance Association of Bankers (TFAB), clinching the award of Trade Quiz Champions.  BOC ‘A’ Team also won 1st place in the “trade round”, and earned high scores at each quiz round to sum-up for the overall championship,.  Inter Bank Trade Quiz is an annual event that takes place together with the Association’s annual get-together, organised for the 14th time by TFAB with the participation of member banks in Sri Lanka. This year, the event took place at the Galadari Hotel Colombo with DFCC Bank Chairman C. R. Jansz participating as the Chief Guest.

Every year, this event attracts very talented teams representing member banks of TFAB who are keen to win this prestigious overall “Championship” award, and this year 23 such teams competed against each other for the trophy. Team leader Dhanushka Sumathirathne (), Kaushalya Wanniarachchi, Sachith Gurugamage, Supun Liyanage and Sugath Fernando represented the winning Bank of Ceylon ‘A’ Team, and they won the Inaugural Parama Dharmawardena Challenge Trophy for Trade Rule Champions, as well as the Seylan Bank Challenge Trophy at the same event. “We believe that this is an overwhelming victory for the Bank’s quiz team as their dedication has paid off with a trophy that can only be won by a team with thorough knowledge and hands-on experience in trade finance. I wish to congratulate the winning team and wish the very best in their future endeavours,” stated CEO/ General Manager Senarath Bandara.BOC Trade Services was the first to be awarded with the ISO 9001-2008 in the banking sector -certification issued by the Sri Lanka Standards Institution.
