Bank of Ceylon takes on Lanka QR across the nation

The journey towards enlightening the public regarding the wonder of QR is gradually gaining momentum.

Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) has organised an awareness and promotion campaign for

popularising Lanka QR with the participation of other Lanka QR certified financial institutions throughout the country covering main districts of Matale, Galle, Jaffna, Puttalam, Batticaloa and Kilinochchi from September to November.

The first phase of this islandwide campaign is set to take flight on 12 September in Matale. Those in attendance (both customers and merchants) will be able to broaden their knowledge regarding the ideal use of Lanka QR for day-to-day transactions.

A delegate from BOC Head office along with Central Provincial officials will participate in the occasion. BOC will participate in the event as the number one bank in Sri Lanka. It has the honour of being the first bank to receive the Lank QR certification for issuing acquiring. It currently wields 26,000 Lanka QR certified merchants and 125,000 wallet active users of SmartPay, Lanka QR Certified Payment App.

The Bank of Ceylon embraces the occasion in line with its digital road map designed towards cash less, paperless and branch less banking to cater to the change in customer perception and behaviour. BOC continues to work closely with technology partners and enthusiastic fintechs to enrich digital payment ecosystem across the country in line with the initiatives of the Central Bank and the Government of Sri Lanka

BOC cordially invites those who are interested to visit and accumulate the wealth of knowledge that is shared. Take part in the journey towards a country powered by Lanka QR,” Assistant General Manager – Electronic Banking Unit Aruna Kumara stated.
