Banking, finance and insurance sector to accelerate digital transformation with National CxO Forum

With the banking, finance and insurance industry facing a growing impact of the technological revolution, the National CXO Forum 2019 organised by the Federation of Information Technology Industry Sri Lanka (FITIS) will become the ideal platform for professionals including business leaders to gain important insights on the tech revolution and innovations engulfing the industry.

With SMAC (social, mobile, analytics and cloud), digital, and robotics leading the revolution, the forum will focus on the latest innovations facing the industry and will feature several visionary local and international speakers who will steer the Banking, Finance and Insurance industry (BFI) track at the full day forum on 14 March at the Shangri-La Hotel, Colombo. 

International subject expert, Rico Petrillo, who specialise in distributed ledger technologies will make a special appearance at the BFI track to share his experience on hashgraph, blockchain and etherum with the audience, soon after Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of LOLC Technologies Ltd. and Group CIO at LOLC Conrad Dias delivers the opening remarks at the BFI session. 

The BFI track will be then steered by four visionary innovators; Achuthan Nair from India, and Sri Lanka’s very own Channa de Silva, Dhanusha Muthukumarana and Dhanika Perera. 

Achuthan Nair, an industry veteran of 30 years, who has a ring side view of the growth of the Indian IT industry, and at present heads the Partnerships, Strategy and amp; Operations at Automation Anywhere for the Indian Subcontinent, will share the stage with Dhanusha Muthukumarana, a business technology professional and a strategist with over 20 years global experience. Muthukumarana enjoys vast experience covering multiple industries including banking, manufacturing, FMCG, retail, healthcare, transportation, system integration, software and technology consulting, and has helped many organisations across the Asia Pacific region to transform their businesses with the adoption of technology. 

Well known ICT industry veteran Channa de Silva who took over the reins as the General Manager/ Chief Executive Officer of LankaClear will also share his sessions during the BFI track on ‘Payment Innovations’. With over 22 years of experience spanning a spectrum of industries, and having served in several leading multinationals and local organisations; De Silva brings with him a wealth of knowledge, expertise and business acumen and will shed important insights on groundbreaking payment solutions which are relevant to the industry in the present context.  

Award-winning Sri Lankan serial entrepreneur and founder of Bhasha, Helakuru and PayHere Dhanika Perera will speak on how technology can optimise and transform business operations. The BFI track will conclude with a panel discussion featuring all six speakers. 

As the apex body of the ICT sector in the country, FITIS has been in the forefront in helping Sri Lankan organisations embrace global technological trends and innovation in its aim to help Sri Lankan companies stand shoulder to shoulder with their foreign counterparts. 

The forum is open for professionals including c-suite executives as well as business leaders representing companies in banking finance, insurance, investment trusts, diversified holding, information technology and services. 

The National CXO Forum 2019 will bring together over 600 delegates where insights from leading industry personnel commanding local and global fame will share their thoughts during a full-day program from 8 a.m. till 5 p.m. in an effort to help local companies be relevant and sustain and remain successful in these challenging and complex times.
