Bond market at a standstill

The secondary bond market was at a standstill yesterday with only the 01.12.24 maturity changing hands at 8.05%.

The total secondary market Treasury bond/bill transacted volume for 25 August was Rs. 31.37 billion.   

In money markets, the Domestic Operations Department (DOD) of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka drained out an amount of Rs. 10 billion by way of an overnight Repo auction at a weighted average rate of 5.74% as the overnight net liquidity surplus in the system increased further to Rs. 13.71 billion yesterday. The weighted average rates on overnight call money and repo were registered at 5.77% and 5.74% respectively.



USD/LKR   

In Forex markets, the overall market continued to remain inactive yesterday. The total USD/LKR traded volume for 25 August was $ 7.50 million.
