Bond market remains at a standstill

The secondary bond market was at a complete standstill once again yesterday while limited trades were only seen in secondary bills, as December 2022 maturities changed hands at levels of 31.00% to 31.80%.  

The total secondary market Treasury bond/bill transacted volume for 2 November 2022 was Rs. 51.06 billion.   

In money markets, the weighted average rates on Repo and Call money stood at 15.50% each yesterday. An amount of Rs. 333.92 billion was deposited at Central Banks SLFR (Standard Deposit Facility Rate) of 14.50%.

Forex Market

In the Forex market, the middle rate for USD/LKR spot contracts remained stable for a seventh consecutive day at Rs. 363.30 yesterday. The total USD/LKR traded volume for 2 November was $ 14.65 million.
