Bond market two-way quotes increase; activity at a standstill

Activity in the secondary bond market was at a standstill at the start of a new trading week yesterday while yields on its two-way quotes were seen increasing.

The total secondary market Treasury bond/bill transacted volume for 24 March 2023 was Rs. 26.78 billion.

In money markets, the average rate of overnight call money and REPOs stood at 16.50% each while an amount of Rs. 200.71 billion was withdrawn from the Central Banks SLFR (Standard Lending Facility Rate) of 16.50%.

Forex Market 

In the Forex market, the USD/LKR spot remained steady at Rs. 320.00/325.00 yesterday.

The total USD/LKR traded volume for 24 March was $ 70.65 million.
