Bond market yields remain broadly unchanged

The secondary bond market yields remained mostly unchanged yesterday with activity witnessed on the 15.01.28 maturity at levels of 32.60% to 32.65%. In secondary bills, 16 December 2022 and 17 February 2023 maturities traded at levels of 30.00% and 32.77% to 33.05% respectively.

The total secondary market Treasury bond/bill transacted volume for 16 November 2022 was Rs. 30.33 billion.   

In money markets, the weighted average rate on overnight Call money stood at 15.50% yesterday while an amount of Rs. 487.59 billion was withdrawn from Central Bank’s Standard Lending Facility Rate (SLFR) of 15.50%. The net liquidity deficit stood at Rs. 150.76 billion as an amount of Rs. 336.83 billion was deposited at Central Bank’s Standard Deposit Facility Rate (SDFR) of 14.50%.



Forex market 

In the forex market, the middle rate for USD/LKR spot contracts remained steady at Rs. 363.50 yesterday.

The total USD/LKR traded volume for 16 November was $ 37.90 million.
