Bond yields increase on its two-way quotes

The activity in the secondary bond market remained moderated at the start of a new trading week yesterday while yields on its two-way quotes were seen increasing. The 15.05.26 maturity changed hands at levels of 29.70% to 29.80%.

The total secondary market Treasury bond/bill transacted volume for 10 February 2023 was Rs. 9.02 billion.

In money markets, the weighted average rates on overnight call money and REPO stood at 15.50% each while an amount of Rs. 221.98 billion was withdrawn from Central Banks SLFR (Standard Lending Facility Rate) of 15.50%.

The DOD (Domestic Operations Department) of Central Bank injected liquidity by way of an overnight reverse repo auction for a volume of Rs. 10 billion at a weighted average rate of 15.50%.

 

Forex Market

In the Forex market, the middle rate for USD/LKR spot contracts was at Rs. 361.92 against its previous day’s closing level of Rs. 361.9226.

The total USD/LKR traded volume for 10 February was $ 101.60 million.
