CFA Society Sri Lanka Capital Market Awards 2023: Celebrating excellence in the financial industry today

The much-anticipated CFA Society Sri Lanka Capital Market Awards, now in its 10th consecutive year, is set to take place today at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel in Colombo. 

Commencing at 6 p.m., the event promises to be an extraordinary evening of recognition and celebration. 

Under the theme of ‘Invest Smart, Build Resilience, Thrive in Sri Lanka,’ this year’s awards embrace the market’s cautious optimism and delve into strategies for constructing robust investment portfolios in the Sri Lankan context. Both traditional and non-traditional investment options will be explored, offering valuable insights to attendees.

The awards ceremony will honour outstanding achievements in various categories, including Best Equity Research Team, Best Equity Research Report, Best Sector Report, Best Investor Relations Team, and Best Unit Trust Team. Within each category, exceptional performers will be recognised with Gold, Silver, and Bronze awards.

Distinguished guests and key industry figures, including Securities and Exchange Commission, Sri Lanka Chairman Faizal Salieh, and Colombo Stock Exchange Chairman Dilshan Wirasekara, will grace the event with their presence. Esteemed invitees, capital market participants, and members of CFA Society Sri Lanka will gather to celebrate excellence in the financial industry.

As part of the event, a stimulating panel discussion will take place, featuring prominent figures from the industry. The distinguished panellists include Ministry of Finance Economic Adviser Deshal De Mel, LYNEAR Wealth Management Co-founder Chief Investment Officer Naveen Gunawardane, and Anarkali Moonesinghe, Independent Non-Executive Director on the boards of John Keells Hotels PLC and hSenid Business Solutions PLC. The session will be moderated by Capital Alliance Ltd. Head of Research Trisha Peries, CFA.
