CFA Society Sri Lanka celebrates new charterholders driving future of finance

CFA Society Sri Lanka (CFASSL) hosted its annual Charter Awards Ceremony and Oration on 26 March at the Lotus Hall, Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH), Colombo. The event celebrated the achievements of 21 new CFA charterholders and two candidates who completed the CFA Program and would be eligible to receive the charter upon meeting the work experience requirements. It brought together CFA members, graduates, families, leading employers, CFASSL partners, academics, and media representatives.

In a special video message, CFA Institute President and CEO Margaret Franklin, CFA emphasised the global impact and responsibility that comes with the CFA designation:

“The CFA credential is truly global and widely recognised as a mark of grit, expertise, and professional excellence. As charterholders, you will uphold the highest standards of ethics and play a critical role in shaping the future of our industry. The world needs investment professionals like you to drive meaningful change and tackle some of the greatest financial challenges ahead.”

CFA Society Sri Lanka President Rashmi Peiris Paranavitane, CFA reinforced the significance of the CFA qualification, stating: “The CFA credential is the professional standard of choice across the global financial and investment industry. It serves as a global passport, opening doors for professionals to thrive in finance and investment roles worldwide.”

Delivering the keynote address as Chief Guest and Orator, Colombo Stock Exchange Chief Executive Officer – Designate Vindhya Jayasekera, CFA highlighted the role of CFA charterholders in shaping Sri Lanka’s corporate sector: “CFA charterholders today hold key positions across leading Sri Lankan corporates, a testament to the program’s relevance in an evolving business landscape.
